About me
Kristy Meyer, owner of Upriver Environmental Campaign Consulting, is the Campaign Director for the WEL Coalition. Kristy is a catalyst for a greener and more just world with over 20 years of experience in government affairs, advocacy, and public policy at the local, state, and federal levels. She is extremely tenacious and has a strong commitment to listening and adapting to turn the gears to enact policy that culminates in environmental justice. Some of her accomplishments include advising the White House on lead in water and Great Lakes restoration; working with state government across the Great Lakes to keep water on during COVID for all families regardless if they could pay; passage of an ordinance to forgive water debt in Toledo, Ohio; working with the City of Columbus, Ohio to craft and pass an Equitable EV Parking Readiness Ordinance; and briefing Congress on harmful algal blooms. Kristy has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Business Administration from Heidelberg University, Tiffin, Ohio and a Master of Science in Environmental Biology from James Cook University, Queensland, Australia. She has two children, a daughter, Jocelyn, who is 16 and just got her driver's license so Kristy is a bit anxious, and a son, Dylan, who is 13, and lives with her husband, Chase, where she serves on the Westerville City School District Board of Education. In her spare time, she likes to hike, whitewater kayak, visit with family and friends, and be in nature.
