About me
Sari Albornoz (she/her) is an urban planner with nearly 20 years of experience in community engagement and nonprofit leadership. A native Austinite, Sari is dedicated to realizing a vision of an ecologically regenerative Austin where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Sari leads the equity-focused engagement effort for Rain to River, the process to create a strategic plan that will guide the work of Austin Watershed Protection for the next 10 years. Before joining the Watershed Protection team, Sari served as director of Sustainable Food Center’s Grow Local Program, where she led the agency’s support for community and school gardens and launched and co-chaired the Equity Team. Sari completed her Master’s of Science in Community and Regional Planning at UT Austin in 2021 and is a founding board member of Fruitful Commons, a nonprofit organization that supports neighborhood-scale community agriculture. She loves hiking with her family, running, camping, backyard campfires, gardening, eating together, and biking around with buddies on sunny days.
